We were talking about them a few weeks ago, with a glance on their last release on Meant Records, Wonky Tonk EP. Today, the two guys from Lille are starring in our 26th edition of our podcasts. The introduction might not be really useful as Spud did it quite well here. The fact that remains is that the two lads from Monoblok & PussySelektor show us off their talent and their freshness here, once again.
I think this podcast might be my favorite among all of our past episodes. We can feel a real evolution within the mix, numerous moods suceed each other all along the one-hour-long podcast, sometimes a bit dark, sometimes way more groovy. We can point out some great gem in the tracklist, needless to say, their last track dropped on Meant Records, Wonky Tonk, remixed by the label’s godfather, Remain. Also a really nice edit of Motorcitysoul’s Vivid by Roman Flugel. Briefly, those two guys managed to go along with several faces of our beloved, but not always so quiet, techno, and are going through BPitch, Soma, Meant or even Simple, without any stumble. The mix ends with the unbelievable Wonky Tonk rework by uncle Smagghe, some could find this track a bit out of subject. In fact, quite the opposite, it closes with an inch of freshness a super-heteregeneous mix, still perfectly leaded though. Dope.
