Del JardÃn Latino:Â -What can you tell us about the set?
Elephant Pixel: -The set contains songs of all my different Indie/IDM projects: elephant pixel, monotax, swave, and some remixes as well. i thought it could be cool to have a set that shows the different colors of my sound palette.
DJL:Â -What about the present and future of this three different versions of Dilo?
EP: -I am currently finishing a new Elephant Pixel which is going to be released on a label from San Francisco (USA). Seph and Sebastian Cohen will be guest in 2 tracks, and some remixers included in the album are N.E. Stofenmacher, Doubtingthomas & Cullen Miller.
Monotax (the band i have with Imi and Pablo Heredia) just finished a double album for the danish label Lo Mid High Unlmtd, which is going to feature remixes by Console (aka Acid Pauli & member of The Notwist),Mujuice and Fase. At last, i recently finished an album by Swave (Wich is basically N.E. Stofenmacher & me) and we are currently looking for a label.
DJL: -Your album debut as Dilo had a great feedback both from colleagues, dedicated press and audience, I’d like to know the feelings you had regarding Waheira and his reception.
EP: -I am very glad with the album and the feedback by the press, friends, etc; makes me very happy. I worked very hard on it, almost for 2 years…..so its nice to have this feeling like i did a good job! beside this, i’m also glad about the musical results, was fun to do it!
DJL: -Which are your future plans as Dilo?
EP: -I am currently working on new tracks and on remixes for Lega, Mekas & Pablo Denegri, and Egon Orange. Theres also a new EP of Dilo vs Gurtz coming soon, on the label Klectik from Chicago (USA).
DJL: -Tell our readers what’s Cascabel Gentz about.
EP: -Cascabel Gentz is a very special project for me, we did it with my L.A. based friend [a]pendics.shuffle a year and a half ago. We knew each other a bit (since i did releases for his label Adjunct) and then after playing together in Los Angeles we became good friends and started doing music, after making some tracks we got very excited and decided to give a name for this new project.
We already did releases for Einmaleins Musik and We are and we got some nice feedback, now we have coming up 2 new EP’s (“Vaquero†and “The Precious Highâ€) on the german label Trapez.
DJL: -Tell us about your tour’s for this year.
EP: -I’ll be doing a Cascabel Gentz & Dilo USA tour in March where im playing at Miami and Los Angeles for example, and heading to Berlin on May to stay there 4 months and play around Europe.
