After causing a stir in the more minimal circles as Miss Fitz, Maayan Nidam broke out with Nightlong, her stunning debut album last year on Powershovel Audio. With her intelligent and graceful use of the original Cuban music, her delicately crafted loops and her overall great structure, she is proving to be a gem of a talent. And she continues to surprise, from her heavy and twisted release on Perlon late last year, to ‘Greatest Tits’ her intriguing EP on Wolf + Lamb, whose multitudinous elements give you a giddy glimpse through her sonic window. For this Hybrid Life podcast she delivers once again, displaying the rich, wonky, deep, passionate music that we are growing to love, more and more.
Maayan is currently on tour in Japan, when she surfaces we’ll try to get the track listing for this podcast over to you. If we don’t get it in time don’t fret, she’ll be in London on 7th August to play at Fabric alongside Seth Troxler and Nicolas Jaar, so you’ll be able to ask her yourself.
