Technique 009 – Dan Curtin

Description

Dan Curtin is a force to be reckoned with. An innovator and an inspiration, Dan’s lengthy career in music began in the early nineties after becoming engulfed in some of the varied and experimental sounds during the previous decade. Influenced by eighties hip hop, new wave, electro and more, he began to craft a sound which was often difficult to categorise but enviously managed to point to the future whilst tipping it’s cap to the past.

With releases under countless monikers on modern dance music’s most important labels – Strictly Rhythm, Peacefrog, Rush Hour and his own Metamorphic – it’s difficult to name many other artists who’ve achieved even half as much as Dan in their career. It’s with this drive and passion that we see him continue to forge forward, and almost twenty years on, remain as important an artist as ever. Dan is now keeping the company of more modern contempories such as Jay Haze’s Tuning Spork and of course Mobilee, where he recently released his incredible ‘Lifeblood’ long player.

For Technique 009 we receive a mix from Dan which gives us a snapshot into what it is that’s made him continually important.
